In the coalition agreement of the three major parties of Germany, it was already announced last year: “Renewable energy is the future and an important part of the environmental policy of the Federal Republic of Germany, as well as an important economic engine.”
Therefore, in the future, renewable energies have to apply for funding commitments from the EU and the Federal Republic of Germany. The EU's environmental and energy guidelines for renewable energies define the obligation to apply until latest 2017.
Not every plant gets automatically funded by the Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG). Thereby, new wind and solar power plants will have to compete with each other. By this intend the plants shall become cheaper and more efficient.
The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) has now presented key points for the conversion of other technologies.
- Improvement of Market integration of Wind and solar plants
- Europeanize all Tenders
- Photovoltaic roof systems: Only large Plants shall become part of the tender
